The collaboration with Maarten Baas wasn’t Walter van Beirendonck’s first. Inaddition to his high-profile seasonal collections, van Beirendonck has madecreations for many other houses and labels, including Mustang and SCAPASports. With a limited edition collection for Swedish furniture giant Ikea in 2016,Walter van Beirendonck’s move into furniture design was probably no surpriseeither. The chairs are available in 8 differently shaped backrests, classified A to H. In the fabric selection menu below, each model can be chosen in multiple types of upholstery (various options seen in downloads, please contact us for more information). This chair was presented in 2017 at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. The standard color of the frame is black. (RAL9005).

Walter Van Beirendonck

Although Flemish fashion designer Walter van Beirendonck (1957) was alreadyinterested in drawing and painting as a child, it was ultimately the influence ofmusic legend and style icon David Bowie that drew Van Beirendonck to fashionand helped him find his way to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.After graduating in the early 1980s, he and five former fellow students werequickly labeled the Antwerp Six: the still highly influential fashion collective thatincludes Dries van Noten, Marina Yee, Dirk Bikkembergs, Dirk Van Saene and AnnDemeulemeester. Since then, Walter Van Beirendonck has built an impressiveinternational career under his own name.
